ASAGAO
Projection mapping A/V piece for the 1-minute PM festival in Nagasaki (Japan). The piece has been an award winner in the Special Jury Prize category.
Japanese Morning Glory, or Asagao, was chosen by Japanese scientists for a world-first study using the revolutionary CRISPR, a genome-editing tool to change flower color in an ornamental plant. What took nature nearly 850 years to achieve has taken less than one using the CRISPR/Cas9 system, indicating the power and potential of science in our lives.
The project aimed to create a composition based on this scientific discovery and treat the building as an entity that evolves and changes over time. We wanted to express ideas and feelings such as chemical reactions, biological activities, molecules, growth, etc.
