In the contemporary world and with the digital revolution, many times we stop observing the phenomena that occur around us in the natural world as well as the immense variety of organisms that compose it.
If we observe a lichen, we will realize the complexity and beauty that underlies these organisms living among filaments of multiple species in a mutualistic relationship. These organisms are part of multiple processes in nature and they are crucial to our environmental health as they can control air pollution, and also help stabilize desert soils for example.
This artwork is an abstract piece inspired by the form and color of these complex organisms. The piece artistically reinterprets the elements that we can find in nature daily and that prompt awareness of our interconnectedness with the environment.
You can find it currently on exhibition and available at AVI Gallery in Canada.
